I am human just like you and everybody else on this planet and I too crave something sweet and satisfying after dinner. Sometimes it is very hard to make good choices on desserts with most of them being highly processed, sugar filled and a total calorie bomb. It is hard to eat paleo on desserts and still get that deep satisfaction one gets when they eat ice cream or cookies. One of my usual go to’s is dark chocolate covered almonds but even with them they have soy lecithin in them which is not all that great for you. My other is a banana with almond butter, coconut flakes, cinnamon and honey. Very yummy if you have not tried it yet. My wife, God bless her, has for the most part bought into (about 80%) majority of the paleo/primal movement and has found this great recipe for primal fudge.
Primal Fudge – makes 10
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup high quality cocoa powder
1/2 cup smooth almond butter
1/4 cup raw honey or maple syrup
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Melt coconut oil. Blend all ingredients in food processor. Pour into paper lined muffin tin cups. Chill 30 minutes or freeze for 10. Store in sealed container in refrigerator.
These babies are the bomb! Almost better than recess peanut butter cups. I highly recommend you add these to your dessert menu.
